Losgar animation 3 by Sirielle Losgar animation 3 by Sirielle
This is a screen cap from my Losgar animation test 2009. Inspired by the burning of the ships in "The Silmarillion" and it's story variation from "The History of Middle-earth" vol. XII.
:spotlight-left: :film: Losgar animation #3 [link] at Vimeo :spotlight-right:
+ a side comics-clip at YT [link] where Celegorm explains why not You Tube (is there a remedy?)

More details are in the video descriptions, please check them.

And enjoy!

All the rest of day I'm under the impression of your animation...
I'm lost for words, simply great!
and the face of Feanor...  this is the best Feanor I have ever seen!

Thank you, I'm glad you think so :thanks: This is not my final take on Feanor (nor others, these are old sketches), but definitely I got there character I wanted Feanor to have.

I'll tell you what... =)
a) Your artwork induced a very colourful dream to me, and I coud memorize it. Too bad I was waken up by an unwanted call. =)
b) I TRULY think you do great to illustrate Tolkien exactly in this format, not a movie, not a cartoon, but the moving pictures getting alive with a very precise choise of music. These kinds of changing images are very dream-alike, I  believe it's a true pure power here.
c) You've left a very correct incompleteness in your story, and it counts, unlike all those movies. You've been so respectful to a viewer to imagine the rest, I adore it!

I'm waiting (impationately!) to see MORE of your works!

Kindest regards,
Elena

Better refined drawings with a bit of motion ;) I'll try to capture something more than moving backgrounds, but a real movement of beings will be hard. I'll probably keep it in a form of transforming images. When I have time and muses lure me to it.

that sounds great! actually, this technique fits your videos very well, and leaves more space for refinement in the drawings you use (: real flash animation is tough! i feel inclined to try a bit of it, but i have no idea of how to do it XD

I didn't plan to do it in flash - as vector graphic, but such can be done in ToonBoom or any other animation software - they're mostly made for flash animation. If you want to learn it get trials of ToonBoom, TV Animation and other - check here, the entry is old, but programs still up to date: [link] There was also something like manga studio for animation, similar to ToonBoom. I haven't run any trials, yet, saving them for serious job.
