A quick background image for DVD menu to one old home movie. Since the movie begins with a galaxy as background I thought I make one for the start image. In the middle I've checked space shots online and have found the beautiful Andromeda (so had to search for one old song about it, too). But it's not Andromeda, not accurate enough nor supposed to be. Just a galaxy. [Painter IX.]

But what is a category for such image?

I was looking at Andromeda photo. But a friend told me - in comments here - that these photos do not show up a real view. They are taken on long time and in a few light frequencies/visions or how to say it - infra-red etc., so all is visible. From a star ship we would not see such view, only something similar to our Milky Way visible in unclouded night sky :)

Try, that was easy! Done mostly with a mouse, no need for tablet with it. Start with dark background and add the blurred places as references show, then add sharper light points of closer objects, use blur on a layer if you need and repeat it till you get what you want. Or more or less this way. Pepper spry brush was handy in Painter to add all the tiny dots, I blurred these and added again, used a lot of screen mode setting on layers. I did mine in a bit chaotic way, but that's what it should be done - from dark and blurry to sharp and light areas.
